Trainee Managers

Smithfield also employs a number of Trainee Managers, whom are young, enthusiastic people who have generally recently graduated from university with a degree in (for example) Agricultural Science, Animal Science, Agricultural Economics etc. Trainee Managers work in each area of the feedlot on a rotational basis, over a period of up to three years. The aim of our trainees is to enable them to gain as much hands on, practical experience as possible, with the view being able to manage each area of the feedlot when required. Trainee Managers are also encouraged to participate in training programs and short courses, to promote personal and professional development. Such courses may also work to develop the management skills of our Trainee Managers.
